The following is a summary of the courses I've taken, along with an overview of the key topics and skills covered in each course.
Operating Systems and Server Management:
Applied Operating Systems: Gained practical knowledge in managing and troubleshooting operating systems.
Linux Server Management I & II: Gained skills in administering, and managing Linux servers. Using tools such as Apache, Nginx, MariaDB, Postfix, BIND DNS, OpenVPN, OpenSSL, and Nagios. Additionally, I have become well-versed in the three major Linux distributions: Debian, Fedora, and Arch, along with the many distributions that fork from them.
Windows Server Management I, II & III: Covered techniques for managing Windows Server environments, and best practices, including expert-level management and troubleshooting. Managed Active Directory, HyperV, Clustering, DNS, IIS, backup and recovery, and Microsoft Exchange.
Virtualization and Cloud Computing:
Virtualization and Cloud Computing I & II: Concepts and practical applications of virtualization and cloud technologies, including but not limited to VMWare ESXi, VSphere, vMotion, vCenter, HA, DRS, FT, and AWS.
Network Infrastructure:
Network Infrastructure Fundamentals: Covered the fundamentals of designing, setting up, and managing networks.
Network Routing and Switching Essentials I & II: Learned the ins and outs of routing and switching. Gained advanced skills for complex network environments, especially with Cisco IOS-based infrastructure.
Cybersecurity and Database Management:
Information Technology Cybersecurity: Principles and practices of cybersecurity to protect IT infrastructure. Worked with Kali Linux, Wireshark, Nmap/Zenmap, Ettercap, Shodan.io, Maltego, Cupp, Cewl, Metasploit (including performing attacks against Windows infrastructure using the eternalblue exploit), and PfSense with Snort.
Database Administration and Design: Covered the fundamentals of designing, managing, and optimizing databases.
Programming and Web Design:
Introduction to Programming Concepts (Java): Learnt the basics of Java programming, including syntax, control structures, and object-oriented concepts.
Introduction to Programming Concepts (Python): Covered the essentials of Python programming for various projects.
Introduction to Web Design: Explored web design principles, focusing on HTML, CSS, and creating a good user experience.
Project Management:
Information Technology Project Management: Learnt how to manage IT projects, covering planning, execution, and monitoring.
Work Related Projects
During my ITAS Practicum, I worked for Reach Systems, the sister company of Shift Costal Technologies. I was left in charge of the Network Design of a project by the name of "The Ocean Sled" a fully autonomous boat used for environmental surveys and rescue.
